The Madness of Dubai...

Dubai has been termed as the fastest developing cities in the whole world- there are more construction workers than there are actual citizens! Check out the transformation of this street within 13 years...
Dubai street in 1990
the same street in 2003
and the same street in 2010
The same street in 2011
I have assembled a list of totally bonkers Dubai buildings- Some complete others still the stuff of sci-fi fantasy...

The Burj Dubai.
Worlds tallest building.
Dubai towers
A cluster of aesthetically designed towers that will symbolise a new phase in dubai’s architectural standards and establish path breaking definitions in structural brilliance and engineering innovation worldwide.
Dubai Promenade
Located in between dubai marina and palm jumeirah, this wheel shaped five star hotel is built on a man-made peninsula. it will be accompanied by a series of sister towers that will create 2,000 residential units.
Dubai Opera House
Thе Ras al Khaimah Convention аnd Exhibtion Centre
(Also known as the Death Star)
The Atlantis
The Trump International Hotel
The Trump International Hotel will be the centerpiece of one of the palm islands, The Palm Jumeirah.
The Jungle Hotel
Hydropolis
The world's first underwater hotel.  Intended to be entirely built in Germany and then assembled in Dubai, The Hydropolis Underwater Hotel and Resort is a proposed hotel, deigned by Prof. Roland Dieterle. It would be the first underwater luxury hotel and will be one of the most expensive on earth costing approximately $4 a minute to stay there.

Dubailand
Currently, the largest amusement park collection in the world is  Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, which is also the largest single-site employer in the United states with 58,000 employees.  Dubailand will be twice the size.
Anara Tower
The Anara Tower has a fake wind-turbiney thing at the top to look cool but not do very much at all; we called it eco-bling.
The Rotating Towers
Consists of 80 individual rotating stories powered by wind turbine -essentially the worlds most expensive merry go round.

Porsche Towers

Dancing Towers
Three buildings which rise up from the ground bending and intertwining with each other to create fluid animation of the forms.
Dubailand ski dome
This indoor ski resort will contain a rotating ski slope, mountain run, training area, snowboarding area etc (with 6,000 tonnes of real snow). there will also be 4-season aquaria, snow castle, ice rink, cold and hot spas and an iceberg-shaped five star hotel, among other luxuries.
Atrium city towers
A cluster of three supertowers - rising above 100 floors, to be connected at base with an atrium and with skybridges.
